My apoligies go out to my parents on not keeping up with our blogging. I want to share with you the reason for being extremely busy but in hopes to get back to our blog real soon. We are working very hard and delegent to make our facility one of the first Family Homes to perticipate and become a part of the Quality Standards Accreditation developed through Arkansas State University. A steering committee of national early childhood leaders were involved in developing the new system and its relationship to the wider field of professional development in early care and education.
During this process of Accreditation we have had Quality Assistance visits and reviews. Our first review went very well but I wanted to make improvements throughout the facility to make the best score that we can on our last and final review. They gave me a "window" a space of time that unexpectedly they will arrive and watch us work, play and have a wonderful learning experience with the children as they score our involvement and procedures. Doesn’t this all sound like fun? Yippie... We as providers care about respect and are committed to helping each child develop to his or her full potential.
So we were just informed that our open "window" unexpected visit should be between Mar 15 to May 15th. And our luck Kathy gets admitted to the Hospital on Sunday for her gall bladder to be removed Monday and so she is out all week. Then I sprang my knee and ended up on crutches for two days. Can it get any better? Of course!! silly me. So please be patient with me, with in about one week I hope to have our blog back up and running to full potential...
