Just out for a walk

Today we got adventurous and decided to get out in this beautiful weather and take a walk before lunch, and what a treat. We all enjoyed the walk so much and as soon as we got back we talked about other field trip walks we can make. We were getting excited about possibly TCBY maybe tomorrow! We walked to the Golf Course and watched some men hit and chase their golf balls. The ones in their Golf Carts waved and said hi to us. We also got to see a big tracker doing some dirt work. We seen how he would pick up a big pile of dirt and put it in the dump truck. By the time we reached the house, our lunch was just about done cooking, so we washed up, ate and fell right off to sleep. NICE!....
Here are some pics from our walk...

Our fire man starting off this morning with helping up to
learn what to do if our clothes were on fire, Stop, Drop and Roll.

He wanted to share with the children that firemen are nice
and their fire suits may look scary but they are not
intended to be scary just helpful to the firemen
and the ones they help.

The kids had lots of good questions about the hat and coat.

Bryan loves hats!

Then he put the entire suit on and let the
children touch and feel the entire suit.

After the nice fireman handed each one of us a
fire hat we went out to see the big red fire truck.

This is the air mask that the firemen use when they need
oxygen. Some of the kids wanted to try it out.

Hagen had his turn.

We had lots of help today, we want all around the truck
looking at all the interesting things that they keep on their truck.

The blower

When leaving the firemen were nice and turned
on the lights and sirens!!!

Thank you all for being very understanding that I have not been keeping up with the Blog! It has been a hard month of Sept while recovering from surgery and having a new grand baby being born this month. Thank you all so much. We will get back on track next week. Please be here by 9 am on Monday because our fire truck will be visiting at that time. All the kids present will receive a fire hat and a lot of fun touching the big red fire truck. The firemen will talk to the kids about the dangers of fire and how to protect themselves and get out of the building if one occurs, also very important that family talks to their children and makes a fire escape plan for your own house. Tell the children where the meeting place is outside and go over all avenues of protecting them in case of a emergency. One year we had the fire truck demonstration and I had a brother and sister enrolled that payed attention very well. One night their house caught on fire and the children remembered to not open their bedroom doors, get to the windows and get help. This is what they both did, their parents were able to get to the windows from the outside and retrieve the children. There were some burns on their little hands and smoke inhalation but their lives were saved. The parents thanked me later because the children expressed to them that they did what the fire men told them to do, that which they learned from school. Very touching story, again thank you all and we will see hopefully everyone at school by 9 am.

There are so many ways that I can explain how this last two weeks have been keeping me away from my blogging, something I enjoy doing and want to show my day care families how much I appreciate them and the fun that the children and I have throughout the days of spending time together learning and having fun. But it was a emotional roller coaster of how sick I was and how much I missed being around the kids. Today as I entered into the room I had so many little sweeties run up to me with hugs, such big hugs and kisses. I missed them so much. Today was a good day and I feel that I am now on the good road to recovery. I was suppose to have had a simple gallbladder surgery which turned into a transfer from Harrison hospital to Fayetteville and two other surgeries. The third one being a success. Now just getting around the soreness and being able to get out from under the anesthetics and pain relievers.
Last week we had two birthday parties, one for Peyton he is now four years old, he has been looking forward to this day all summer long, and here it is. I love you Peyton so much and Happy Birthday last week it looks like you all had such a good time. Then we had a birthday party for Rayne, he turned two yrs old. Happy Birthday Rayne. This week, actually today was Haven's birthday, she was not at school today, but Happy Birthday today Haven we missed you. More Birthdays coming up in a few days.
