The younger crew used their painted noodles today
to spell the word RED. They are having fun with the songs
about the color red.

While our older kids were pasting their numbers
to match up with objects in a cluster of pictures.
It was sticky!

The Duck Duck Goose game is a fun game and learning how to take turns and match colors.
In the other picture Raelynn is helping Hayden look stylish with the blanket as a tie.
He looks happy :)

Gathering back in from our fire drill. All went well and everyone knew just
what to do. We have these once a month along with a tornado drill.

We have been talking about forest animals this week.
Here is a picture of some of their animals, and raccoon hat.

Bryce found a sea shell in the sand table
so he puts it up to his ear to listen for ocean sounds.

As only a very few of you know, but my grandchild Killian will be three years old in December but has yet to talk much. Killian seems to be a very smart little guy but has had trouble with communication, he is visiting a speech therepist and deveopmental therepist for some time. But today we had a break through that to me makes my heart sing

Forest Animals

Bryce brought from home a forest animal
a white tail dear. Also he brought his raccoon
hat with tail.
We watched some interesting facts about
Wooded Forest Animals and they enjoyed
talking about them.

Introducing to some of our younger crew the color RED
and also to all the kids how to spell the color RED.
Here they are painting noodles red
for a project tomorrow.

Happy Birthday

Klaira has just turned three years old.
Happy Birthday little girl.
We had so many goodies brought by Klaira
grandmother, she was so sweet to bring so many
goodies to all the children. Klaira never shows her shy side
very much anymore but today was a little hard
to hide it when all the attention was on her.

For the rest of the crew, none were bashful
it was gimme gimme gimme. Cute as ever!

Finally we got a big smile from the shy Birthday Girl!

Getting movement in along with our music.
Fun times

Bryce and Peyton working on numbers with dry erase booklets

And just when we all finish a very busy week.
Lets just take some time to "Just Breathe" and enjoy

Next week along with having fun learning and
playing around with Owl sounds, we will be learning
about Animals in the Forest. Good topic sense some of them
big ones hibernate in the fall.
I use to call myself mother bear, can I hibernate this fall?
Oh I better not I would miss out on our lovely little friends here.

I hope you all enjoyed the Kissing Hand activity.
Today we finished off our Hershey Kisses we were
munching on as we read The Kissing Hand book.

This week we are spending time together
getting to know are new friends.
We have RJ and Hayden that has joined our group
and Chase, Aiden and Bryanna are returning.
We have missed them dearly.

Journals

Killian loves to get a crayon or marker in his little
hands. He absolutely loves coloring. Each child has his or her own journal in their
lockers. So at any time the children feel like they need to draw, write or express themselves
in their journals they are easy for them to get to where others cant write in theirs.
Letting children dictate information is one of the preschool literacy activities that teaches them to see the relationship between spoken and written words and reading or just letting loose with their markers. We encourage our children write in their journals each day.

Another thing I have introduced to the kids is a I-Pad.
The preschool activities are many.
This one the Peyton is using goes through the alphabet from A to Z
and has him trace the letter with his finger in the direction
he should be writing, very good app.

Working on our alphabet book.

Ms. Betty is the sweetest lady, she comes from the
Boone Co. Library and is a voluntary reader.
Ms. Betty comes in singing to the children, and
after a couple of books being read, she shakes hands
with each child as she sings them a song as she is leaving.
We all love her so much. Last Wednesday was her Birthday
She didn't disclose how old she was but said it was
over 65. How sweet!!!
She absolutely loves coming here because she
says our children are so well behaved.

The Kissing Hand

The Kissing Hand
Chester Raccoon stood at the edge of the forest and cried.
"I don't want to go to school," he told his mother. "I want to stay home with you. I want to play with my friends. And play with my toys. And read my books. And swing on my swing. "Please may I star home with you?" Mrs. Raccoon took Chester by the hand and nuzzled him on the ear.
"Sometimes we all have to do things we don't want to do," she told him gently. "Even if they seem strange and scary at first. But you will love school once you start." "You'll make new friends. And play with new toys." "Read new nooks. And swing on new swings. Besides," she added. "I know a wonderful secret that will make your nights at school seem as warm and cozy as your days at home."
Chester wiped away his tears and looked interested. "A secret? What kind of secret?"
"A very old secret," said Mrs. Raccoon. "I learned it from my mother, and she learned it from hers. It's called the Kissing Hand."
"The kissing hand?" asked Chester "What's that?"
"Ill show you." Mrs. Raccoon took Chester's left hand and spread open his tiny fingers into a fan. Leaning forward, she kissed Chester right in the middle of his palm.
Chester felt his mother's kiss rush from his hand, up his arm, and into his heart. Even his silky, black mask tingled with a special warmth.
Mrs. Raccoon smiled. "Now," she told Chester, "whenever you feel lonely and need a little loving from home, just press your hand to your cheek and think, 'Mommy loves you. Mommy loves you." And that very kiss will jump to your face and fill you with toasty warm thoughts."
She took Chester;s hand and carefully wrapped his fingers around the kiss. "Now, do be careful not to lose it," she teased him. "But, don't worry. When you open your hand and wash your food, I promise the kiss will stick." Chester loved his Kissing Hand. Now he knew his mother's love would go with him wherever he went, Even to school.
That night, Chester stood in front of his school and looked thoughtful. Suddenly, he turned to his mother and grinned. "Give me your hand," he told her. Chester took his mother's hand in his own and unfolded her large, familiar fingers into a fan. Next, he leaned forward and kissed the center of her hand.
"Now you have a Kissing Hand, too," he told her. And with a gentle "Good-bye" and "I love you," Chester turned and danced away. Mrs. Raccoon watched Chester scamper across a tree limb and enter school. And as the hoot owl rang in the new school year, she pressed her left hand to her cheek and smiled.
The warmth of Chester's kiss filled her heart with special words.
"Chester loves you," it sang. "Chester love you."
As you are all aware of, Harrison School's are back in session. So here at ABC we have also returned back to preschool learning daily activities. We were learning a lot through the summer although we were playing, swimming and eating fun ridiculous stuff like McDonald's and Pizza. But we had a blast doing it.
We have lost some good friends as well as we are getting to know other friends that are just starting.
Aiden and Emma to the left just went back
to Missouri where they live with their mother. She had been sick this summer so they came to visit their popo and momo. Brayden, Kade and Chandler all left to go back to school. Have a good year boys it was a blast having you here this summer.

Brayden drew this beautiful bird. What a little artist. And so that encouraged others to use their artistic abilities in drawing.

So here is Killian. He loves colors every color! and uses them all to make a brightly beaming picture.

One of our new reading areas! Kara did a wonderful job
painting our tree.

I will start posting our themes for the week. And activities that the kids do daily. Please be patient with me I have found myself getting overwhelmed with planning and it has taken me away from my blogging. But hopefully I am now back on track.
I have a very tender heart toward all of my children here. Their little yearning hearts to learn and to show each ones little personalities and it makes my heart warm to love on them. Thank you parents for giving me this opportunity,
